Move from reaction to response. -What you know and what you don't. This will help you pinpoint where you need more info or clarity. -What's missing—the goal, specific info, decision-making authority, knowledge, or something else? Knowing what you need guides you in seeking the right kind of help. -Prepare Questions: Based on your assessment, create specific questions that will provide you clarity. Then, talk to your boss to discuss your questions and concerns. Approach this conversation positively, aiming to understand better and contribute more effectively.

Definitely seek clarity. I find it helpful to make sure all connected stakeholders are involved in the clarity conversation. Often, if you are confused, so are others. If your boss continues to confuse you it could be intentional. I hate to say this but I have seen it used as a way to get rid of people. Make you appear to be ineffective. Rare but happens.
