Rejection can be tough, but I don't have to let it get me down. I have to stay positive and persevere and keep putting myself out there. Continue to connect with new people and attend events. I diversify my target audience to expand my network base. Not every attempt will be successful. But rejection doesn't necessarily mean I did something wrong. It could be a matter of timing, character fit, or simply not being the right person for the role.

I recommend two tweaks. The first is to think of this a building your professional community. So many people are apprehensive of networking but are wizards at growing their community-online and in person. Tap into those skills and perspective for your professional community. The second is to focus on how you can help others. Changing the focusfrom from you to them will help others connect and trust you. You’ll find your community will grow and it won’t be painful with these tweaks.
