I use a military like template in which i describe the definition of either the task or project. In this template, i describe: 1 The Parameters, here i describe the date issued by, functions of the responsible, the date in which the project or task needs to be compleated and also, the confidenciality of the task. 2 The Allocated Resources. Here we describe all the resources needed to get the work done. 3 The task or project objetive. This is the most important section of this document, i here try to be the more especific as possible in order to let no questions about the porpouse of the job. 4 Additional information. Seccondary objetives, metrics and contacts. So far, it has been of enormus help!!!

In complex projetcs i define the expectation and the qualitity to my staff, therefore, i leave absolute liberty of performance to them. But, weekly i request a one page report of the project status, in which especify the current situations (related to the week of the plan schedule), achivements, challengues, actions plans, conclusions or evidences. This allows me, also to know, how they describe all the advances of the projetc in a simple way.
