While printing several parts with clearance we observed that a tree support structure compromised the fit as the retrieval of it wasn′t easy and it remained inalmost unreachable places. Changing to line support structure solved that problem.

Be sure the scale is right, check the stl with a slicing software, set the printer in the slicing software and be sure the stl has no errors

Pay attention to the fillament used in the printer and the preset settings for each fillament in the used printer software. Same type of material (PLA+, PETG,...) of the fillament from different suppliers doesn′t necessarily mean same settings. It may require to experiment with the presetting from the printer.

When printing rotorblades for our current researchproject we could observe that sometimes monitoring at the start of a print is only a small part of the process. Many of the printing issues started at the last third of the process. The rotorblades surface and tip are onlay around 2mm thick at that region so this the most crucial part for printing issues. Our desginprocess took the try and error approach as we couldn′t observe the print for the whole time. Depending on the size, a sampleprint with lower infill and less solid layers may enable you to observe the whole printing process and to evaluate potential mistakes/challenges for the 100% infill print later on.

Sometimes we don't need to think too much. In my view, whenever you need to make critical decisions, just follow this > List out the project's requirements such as features, material, colour, surface finishing, application of printed parts, etc. > List out the resources that you have such as printer resolution, materials, time, software, etc > Match the requirements with availability. Find the availability of unmatched requirements > Go one with the sorted list. Also seeking help from experts would be helpful if required.

For 3D printing, experimentation are required to finde the best fit and to help decision makers or their decisions. During my experience in both materials printing such as PLA, ABS, PETG and PEEK. Best results achieved after multiple experiments as well as best results of printing concrete.
