The number one thing that can start you on this route is to talk with your manager. It may seem daunting at first because, let's face it, you are telling your boss you want to move on. But the key is to not think of it that way. Your boss is there to support you and push you into challenges. They may have some projects that may help you with the skills you need to grow. Also I have learned that they may know someone in the field you are trying to get into and your manager may try to connect you with that person. The first step in starting your network of peers can be as easy as telling your manager your career goals.

Resume is the gateway for any organization to an individual and LinkedIn is the one the most authentic way to verify the candidate's credentials hence updating of both are very critical steps in job switch. The most important aspect is to be honest and transparent about past experience while showcasing our strength and relevant experience (like conflict resolution, leadership, empathy etc.) for the people management role.
