What do you do if you want to switch careers within the Education industry using continuing education?

Every school needs an empathy corner wherein a counsellor is sitting to hear out all concerns. She can then prioritize them and make a plan to address the issues .This forges a great bond between the teacher and the taught and the education of the heart begins. Better, empathetic ,confident students are created with a little bit of concern.

Reflect on your what and why! Being purpose-driven will help direct you better in your decision-making. Once you have this, assess what’s needed to help you get there! And remember it’s a journey and your story and path will be different to another person! Don’t compare your timeline, your credentials or experience with anyone else. It’s yours and yours alone! Instead focus on what it is you need to acquire to help you reach your goal! Stay determined and be consistent!

I am a lifelong learner, so I constantly evaluate myself for a new role. The key component here is reflecting on the reasons behind the move and decide your approach and how to get to the end goal. Would it involve futhering your education, making the right connections or brushing up on old skills. I dont believe in starting from scratch to avoid delays. So seek to master major skills that will land you in the new position. And focus on leveraging and mastering major skills that can seamlessly transition into the new position. In connection with the steps to successfully switch careers, identify skills and interests that align with the potential job aspiration, research job market for the availability of roles in the educationl industry.

Acredito que este primeiro passo é o mais crucial de todos, pois é conhecendo nossos propósitos e estando alinhados aos nossos princípios que podemos estabelecer um foco e só ent?o planejar e trilhar um caminho para se chegar ao objetivo final. Acredito que os principais passos a serem percorridos nessa autoavalia??o s?o: - Conhecer suas necessidades e a área que te desperta verdadeira paix?o; - Depois de uma autoanálise profissional, buscar o aperfei?oamento comportamental necessário para tal (seja ele melhorar a aparência, a oratória, etc); - Ter a forma??o necessária para se tornar um profissional completo e de excelência; - E ter sempre um plano de a??o a curto, médio e longo prazo, afim de n?o se perder pelo caminho.

Encaro uma transi??o de carreira como uma nova oportunidade de aprendizagem e acredito muito que o aprendizado se dê sempre em comunidade. As trocas com os outros podem agregar muito em nossas reflex?es pessoais sobre o momento que estamos passando. Ouvir as experiências dos outros é também de grade valia, bem como ter rede de apoio que nos forne?a oportunidades de ganhar experiência em diferentes áreas.

Quando pensamos em transi??o de carreira, é importante testar e ganhar experiência como aliados à educa??o continuada. Enquanto estudamos para obter novas certifica??es, a expertise prática pode auxiliar a entender melhor se aquela é a área que queremos mesmo, ou se nossas expectativas sobre a mudan?a eram aquelas mesmo.

Reflection is essential. I’ve spent over two decades in education, transitioning from teaching to leadership, to consultancy. Before each role change, I asked myself if this step would bring me closer to my ultimate goal. Would this role help me develop the skills needed for my end goal? Reflection has allowed me to stay focused and motivated, ensuring my efforts are aligned with my long-term objectives. It taught me to never stop learning and to continually invest in myself. Each role, each challenge, and each success should be viewed as a step closer to achieving your ultimate career aspirations, especially when navigating a career switch. Honor yourself and your journey by being intentional and strategic in your decisions.

Expand what you think of as the “Education industry”. Legislators and political advisors address education. What do you need to learn about politics and what skills do you need to acquire for those roles? Community-based organizations support, train, and hold accountable our educators. What do you need to learn about organizing, policy, and fundraising? How could you address your growth edge in inclusion and equity to expand the footprint of an organization? Even social media sites could be considered part of the education industry if you are using your platform to expand learning and honor multiple perspectives. What technology skills do you have yet to learn? How do you tell a powerful visual story? Think broadly to find your next niche!
