There are basic and user friendly tools like string, PE editor which provides a high level overview of what is the malicious executable made of, this helps in initial recon of the malware. Followed by these there are tools that are widely used like wireshark, which can be used for packet capture and analysis of the web traffic. Then comes the process monitoring tools such as procmon, process explore which is used for understanding which process is running with what permission, timestamp ...etc and lastly for the disassembler tools - IDA pro, Ghidra which gives you the assembly level of the malware works using which the analyst can debug and conduct reverse analysis of the malware.
