In over 35 years I learned that resilliance is the most important quality one needs to go on day by day and promote sustainable energy. The level of ignorance and fake news one has to battle is incredible at all levels of society. Only active communication and education can change this.

Doing research, engaging with technical persons, focussed group discussions with industry leaders and policy makers can help gain an understanding around the current trends and which type sustainable energy solutions can work in the targeted area.

I try to learn (on site) from Stakholders. In the context of photovoltaic solutions: By observing and talking to experienced individuals (installers, energy consultants, project planners), you can expand your local network and get to know relevant trades and their activities yourself. There is so much to do in the context of the energy transition that most of the people working here are willing to share their knowledge.

Practical experience is important as it will help you in understanding the feasibility of the solution. Techno commercial aspect is important to understand for execution of green energy solutions and understanding its scalability.

By combining disparate perspectives, abilities, and experiences, collaborations can generate more inclusive and sustainable business models, technologies, and concepts. Certain collaborations may involve the sharing of resources to foster innovation in a specific field.

I talk to local players (municipal utilities, city administration, initiatives) to find out about existing plans and efforts. In cooperative discussions, I present the added value that I can provide in this context. In the best case scenario, I am networked with relevant stakeholders and can contribute to finding solutions.

Though self-education has a limited perspective, I believe that the best way to significantly impact sustainable energy solutions is to start with self-education and then actively network in order to raise awareness. Through brainstorming sessions where one hears the opinions of critics as well, a better sustainable energy solution can be derived, making self-education and active networking complementary.

The energy transition requires disruptive, transformative, systemic change. Right now, electrons are sold as a commodity from a centralized source and travel to customers by long transmission lines that lose that power in the journey. It's hugely inefficient; we are watering daisies with firehoses. We need decentralized, clean energy on microgrids sold as a service and measured as a unit of work. We need micro-utility regulatory infrastructure that will break the monopolistic utility model, inspiring innovation-check out the 1996 Telecommunications Act where Ma Bell was replaced by myriad providers and we went from rotary phones to iPhones within 7 years. Advocate to your congressperson and your utility commission for this kind of progress.

There is so much false information with regard to the clean energy transition and renewable energy going round that it is important to speak up and debunk the myths as much as possible. Whenever I speak about the energy transition, either to a person, a company or an audience, I always work in a section on this. Building confidence is crucial for people to even consider making sustainable decisions, so we all need to contribute to building support for the energy transition.

Actively advocate for change by engaging in community initiatives and influencing policy decisions. Raise awareness about renewable energy benefits, participate in campaigns, and engage with policymakers through letters and public forums. Sharing evidence based research via papers; bringing out awareness through articles and OpEds; developing strong engagement and communication strategies can help inform policy decisions regarding sustainable clean energy transition.

We gathered a few colleagues to assess energy consumption and mix in our office. Then moved on to work on a business cases proposal to install solar panel on the entire roof area. Looks quite promising! Discussions with property owner initiated, fingers crossed!

I would advise truly understanding how your business / industry of interest makes money, makes investment decisions and what is important to the key stakeholders in the business - finance, ops, facilities etc. Very often you are competing for capital - you need to be able to show how you can drive positive returns capital invested that will drive profitability and enterprise value. Sustainability doesn’t happen in a vacuum you have to operate within the fundamentals of business.

As the future trends toward fully electric powered transportation, the greatest challenge is clean, pollution-free energy sources that can supply our needs without contributing to climate change or environmental degradation. The first and most important step in that direction is fourth generation nuclear reactor based power plants. The Generation IV International Forum (GIF)—a consortium for the development of fourth generation nuclear reactors—began in 2001 and has grown to 14 member nations. This consortium has 150 new reactors planned with building start dates ranging from 2018 to 2026. While not supplying all future energy needs, those reactors will reduce fossil fuel dependence, allowing wind and solar to become more cost-effective.

We always discuss on advantages of Renewable Sources in Energy sector but we little discuss on limitations/challenges they pose in near future if extensively we promote it as replacement to Hydrocarbon and coal based energy production. For example, If we promote Solar Power Plants which needs batteries, batteries need lithium, how much global stock of lithium is available and how long it will last, Environmental effect of lithium mining? Similarly all other renewable sources more emphasis is required on its limitations rather than only promoting it as replacement source to Hydrocrabon and coal based energy manufacturing. Studies required on Water reservoirs and relations between earthquake? Wind turbines and raining?

To cover ongoing operations and maintenance (O&M) costs, diversify revenue streams, consider partnerships, and ensure efficient operations.
