I have found that those in educational research are often very willing to share, guide, mentor, and direct. In my opinion collaboration is the key! All educators,beyond their educational qualifications,have their own unique skills , strategies and way of teaching! They have their own expertise,so if educators collaborate on large scale,and share thier opinions and work together for a particular research,I think that will be the most beneficial in contributing to any educational research paper.Educators can collaborate and take up a project and work on it, gather research findings from different parts of the world with varied curriculums,put together and create an outstanding research paper with insights from various experts.

You can learn research skills independently or through a formal education process. I believe that Master's courses led me to become a more critical researcher. This is continuous as the more you know, the more you know you don't know. Some of the key things I learned from my formal education (although you could learn in other ways) is my research philosophy, methods and ethics.

Reflective practice helps us identify our individual growth areas and those of the school. A framework such as appreciative inquiry can help us reflect upon where we are and explore where we want to be.

Consider doing YPAR (youth participatory action research). It’s still revolutionary all these years later to put young people at the center of everything but it’s remarkably easy and school-changing to do it. Give young people the space to explore what they need in schools and listen to them, value them and uplift them along the way.

I moved from the biomedical research arena into the medical education field many years ago. I was so used to structured hypothesis testing and well controlled experimental settings to a very opaque less structured 'social study like' environment. Despite having a very good evidence-based critical mind, it took me some time to get used to more qualitative type research and to get used to the new terminology. It took me lots of reading and writing to start to master educational research design and reporting. I am now happy to say that I am have published in both areas and feel quite comfortable in both worlds. I am still learning and always will be.
