I have many experiences on that contributing to supplier from Brazil to decrease contaminants levels of MOSH and MOAH, and use them instead of raw material from Europe.

Plus, it means fresher food for us to eat. So, when we buy local, we help the environment and our communities at the same time.

In my opinion apart from waste reduction, we need to learn to recycle food waste for consumption. Food waste is a major problem facing the food industry and finding a solution to this will go a long way in reducing food cost. For example in Africa, yam is a staple food and both the peel and the carbohydrate rich inner part is consumed. Same can also be applied to European communities with high rate of potato production and consumption. Sustainable food production should consider the entire chain.
