Shut up and listen. Don't defend. Don't explain. Don't justify. Just listen to all feedback. Put your pride on the shelf, admit that there are areas which need serious improvement. Get feedback from a variety of people, people below you, colleagues at the same level, and people above you. Keep track of all feedback items, address each, and decide what you can learn from each. But, don't stop there. Put a plan in place to incorporate many of these.

Even before you get a criticism, you should expect a criticism at some point and be ready to deal with the situation. It is very simple, if the criticism is right, it is going to help us in our growth. If the criticism is wrong, all we need to do is stay calm. Also, we must understand that criticism is about one of our skills and not as a person, we all have flaws and it is beautiful that someone is helping correct that. Remember, as a child, our parents and teachers would tell us about our mistakes. What we will do? Correct it. That's what we need to do instead of holding a grudge against that person.
