What I would suggest doing is looking at the investments a firm has made in YOUR space, and have they been able to spot 2-3 outliers - Exit / IPO / $100M+ ARR - companies. Honestly, that should be the important metric for startups DDing investors. It means they can introduce you to customers, have access to relevant executive talent, have some background to understand what you are doing.
