As I am currently doing, I recommend engaging with Kaggle competitions, enrolling in LinkedIn Learning courses, watching insightful AI tutorials by Google, Microsoft, and other industry leaders, and continuously seeking growth opportunities. Beyond forums organizations and companies are creating Ambassador programs. The language is different depending on the organization but the idea remains. They are often for undergrads, and sometimes they accept graduate students, but they offer mentorship and skill building and you are often gaining experience as a leader by hosting online and offline communities. These forums are goldmines for connecting with machine learning wizards. I definitely plan to pick their brains with well-thought-out questions on recent advancements. Maybe even sparking discussions on exciting topics. Who knows, it could lead to mentorship and open doors to a broader network. Learning from their experience with complex concepts would be invaluable for tackling real-world problems.

Online platforms like GitHub, medium, and Kaggle are good for showcasing skills and expertise. You can share your innovative work and get feedback from the community. The other way is to contribute to open-source projects on Git Hub. Contribution doesn't only mean code, you can also help in identifying bugs, suggest new features etc.

While I have yet to embark on a full-fledged ML project, I'm eager to learn from the fantastic projects others are sharing. By following these discussions and observing how experienced members approach challenges, I can gain valuable insights to apply to my future projects.

Rumor has it that when you teach others it helps to solidify and grow your knowledge (it may be scientifically proven). But it goes to show how interconnected we are and that the benefit is in helping others, as cliche as that seems. I will always champion the individual who picks up the camera to make a unique YouTube tutorial, a podcast, or even a blog, especially within the field of CS. I would even encourage in-person events because of the magic that happens when communities meet IRL (in real life). It can be easy to become stuck to a computer when your career is centered around a computer.

Joining a community or forum, online or offline, will not in itself boost your career. All it does it express your interest and perhaps cost you a membership fee. What matters is what you do once you join it. You can learn from other members, but you could also do that by reading, listening to, or watching public content. The real value of a community comes from active engagement, often in the form or asking or answering questions. Getting answers to your questions can have immediate value. Giving (useful) answers to others' questions is how you build reputation and social capital. Indeed, that's exactly what we are trying to do here!

I would also consider building your community, especially about Machine Learning. I believe everyone should at least attempt because everyone has perspectives and experiences that can shine a light on a blind spot in the field. It's great to get involved in other communities but sometimes your voice or ideas my get drowned in a sea of others.
