In my experience, the most crucial question when considering a new ERP for your organization is interoperability. In other words, is the back end data schema well documented or at least discernible with some effort. Few, if not NO ERP will serve all the needs of an organization. In practice, the ability to leverage data in one to augment the value of another across the enterprise becomes critical. Software conferences can afford you the opportunity to not only see the app in action, but more importantly get to talk to existing consumers of the system. Demos can be highly canned and misleading. Real customer experiences are a valuable part of the evaluation process. Support from the vendor is a good question to ask of their customers.

I’ve been involved with ERP before it even was a buzzword. Working in silos is a deal killer. There are so many ERPs in the market. If you’re ready for one document all your processes and create a RFP ask for potential vendors to respond with we do it or we don’t. Then make sure you understand the implementation plan. Next execute a plan for how it will be rolled out among your team leads.

Actually I would streamline the the process of trading ..It should be reached throughout the country including villages., Especially need to focus on agricultural forms.. I wanted to make them to understand the importance of trading and how it is getting benefitted for their wealth.,Whatever the organics produced by them that should be directly trade to market to get quick & constant growth in their economy.

Based on my experience leading ERP projects around the world, I would say that Communication is the most important skill you must work on. There is no way to become a real leader in this area if you are not able to communicate up and down, right and left. Your ability to easily switch from the technical language to the business language (and vice-versa) will be crucial in delivering / receiving any message to / from the respective audience.

The main reason for the failure of an ERP system is the lack of knowledge of each party anticipation from the the project. Each party should clearly communicate his anticipation before starting the project. This should be included in the Terms Of Reference in order to avoid any later misunderstanding Other issue is the informal communication that leads always to lack of traceability of eventual problems

Communication is the most important tool of a leader. Best knowledge of ERP makes you expert but you can not become leader if you are not able to deliver your knowledge to a laymen in simple manner. Each department of an organisation is equally important, effective and balance communication with all departments is important to be sync with one another. I could not agree more , COMMUNICATION is the single most important aspect of any ERP Project. At the end of the game you are dealing with people’s anxieties, expectations , aspirations and fears. If you do not plan for an effective and realistic strategy on communication , chances are your project will fail. It takes clear understanding of the objectives of the project … of the strategy behind it to be able to communicate. It takes courage and humbleness from the leaders to be able to communicate in a right way. Most times it also requires an external consultant or an expert on communication skills.

Effective communication is crucial (as always) for leading ERP projects as well. You need to articulate complex business cases and information clearly to both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders. Developing strong analytical and problem-solving skills is essential.
