What do you do if you want to accelerate your career growth?

I would have put reflection and goals setting first, before seeking mentors. While a mentor can help to fine tune the goals, they would not set them for you as it has to come from you. A coach on the other hand can help you to clarify your doubts if you feel stuck and not sure what direction to take. Mentoring is key for career growth at different stages.

To accelerate career growth, actively seek opportunities to take on more responsibilities and share your goals with your manager. Set clear objectives aligned with your career aspirations. Engage in projects outside your comfort zone (handle stress will always help to growth) to broaden your skill set and visibility within the organization. Regularly communicate with your manager about your career ambitions, seeking their guidance and support to navigate the path to advancement.

In my opinion not too many people seek out mentors. I found out much later in my career the amazing role mentors can play in identifying your blind spots, helping figure out different paths and also suggesting alternatives to what may seem as obstacles in our path.

Accelerated career growth needs mindful horizontal & vertical upskilling! What I mean by that? Horizontal- refers to getting skilled in adjacent areas to what one is working now. It may be new technology advancement, new techniques etc It helps to broaden perspective & to updated where one is really strong Vertical- refers to getting skilled keeping next 5 year plan mind. It's to move up the ladder. One easy tip to do is to see what skill is required to get to the position of your bosses boss!

There may be excuses about what the company is doing, but ultimately, if someone sees value in you, they will foster your growth. It truly boils down to ourselves and only that. Sometimes, you may need to move on to another company, yet even within that, you need to be at your optimum to achieve growth, which again emphasizes the importance of healing

In my experience it is important to understand what my purpose in life is - WHY am I doing something? WHAT will I achieve by doing it? Once the answer to these questions is clear, the HOW becomes easier and faster.

Look at your personal growth first. We tend to think of "career" as this other "thing". A creature. *You* are the engine. The machine. The life-force. Your career will grow as and when you grow.

In my experience the above points are the key ones and I have observed that the people who make faster progress is the one who finds way to align with organisations and hierarchical needs with self needs.
