I've learned from experience in hindsight that it is better to have a stakeholder that will make known what they unhappy about than those that will just smile and wave even though their needs are not met Listening to what is being communicated is important and can be used to self reflection and evaluating your work

I agree completely, and often wonder why some would choose the latter, surely it would be more beneficial to stakeholders to communicate clearly so that they actually get what they’re looking for….unless there are other agendas at play. Reading between the lines is a crucial skill in theses instances though

I agree that criticism, usually perceived as negative, can be a catalyst for learning and opportunity to grow. Often, as human beings, we zone in on the “negative” feedback and become demotivated. Whilst it is never nice to get criticized , it’s important to stop, breathe, and logically assess the feedback with broader context and holistically. Try to self reflect and identify the root cause, put a plan together to address and use it to positively improve stakeholder management for future engagement.

Dealing with criticism, especially from senior stakeholders, can indeed be challenging. However, I believe it’s an opportunity for growth and improvement. When my work is criticized, I take a step back and try to understand the perspective of the stakeholder. Their experience and insights are valuable, and their feedback could help me see potential issues or improvements that I might have missed. I make it a point to thank them for their feedback, clarify any misunderstandings, and discuss how I plan to address their concerns. This not only helps in improving my work but also in building a stronger relationship with the stakeholders. After all, we’re all working towards the same goal - the success of the project and the organization.
