What do you do if quality control slips in your Landscape Architecture project?

1. Plan.project design, there should be a monitoring and evaluation system in place to ensure that all the steps in the activities are of the right quality and well supervised. 2. Do. M&E tools like material tests ensure that the materials are meeting the specifications and standards required. 3. Check. Proper RFI system to effect approval system to approve work activities contractor, consultant. Quality control 4. Act. Contract terms should negate any outcome from the material defect. However if the material still successfully fails after the above scrutiny, we wait through the dlp and carry out other test parameters and assess performance of the structure, if it fails those other parameters then I’m afraid but we shall have to rework.

When quality slips in a project 1. Check to identify if the rught personnel, right materials, right drawing (if applicable), right procedure and right inspection and test method is used for the project 2. Carry out a review of the process/s, and ensure QA activities are not sidelined 3. Communicate way forward, plans and monitor to completion 4. PDCA could help 5 .
