It is important to have people evaluating the new in all aspects as technology, process improvement, marketing strategies. Not all new could be useful for all the companies, so each company must evaluate the best considering cost/benefits.

Pivot Wisely - All new technology is not always GOOD tech. Many types of new technologies take years to mature…if they mature at all. Breath, evaluate, and never trust the first brochure or PowerPoint deck.

Before I think of pivoting. I shall carefully evaluate the evolving landscape and explore adjacent roles or industries that could leverage both my existing expertise and newly acquired tech knowledge. For example, as an instructor during COVID, since offline sessions were not possible, I pivoted into an online instructor, which helped my career. I had to get acquainted with online delivery technology in a short time. A strategic pivot offers the opportunity for a fulfilling career and ensures long-term viability and success in an ever-changing environment.

Self-reflection and market reflection are the essential processes of growing as a leader. Without regular reflections there is neither lessons learns nor the progress being made. Without progress one inhibits innovation and positive impact. I like to challange my thesis with others on a regular basis. I also collect a lot of feedback to make sure I stay on top of the changes in the niche sectors as well as the broader market. Whilst we set in our ways, we should revamp the way we approach the same problems. I strive for optimising my time to priorities on things that have great meaning.

Reflecting allows you to learn from your successes and failures, celebrate your achievements, and identify areas for improvement. It can also help you make better choices in the future and align your actions with your values and goals.
