1 Design philosophy

TensorFlow and PyTorch have different design philosophies that affect how you write and run your code. TensorFlow is based on a static computational graph, which means that you define the structure and operations of your model before executing it. PyTorch, on the other hand, is based on a dynamic computational graph, which means that you can modify your model on the fly as you run it. This gives PyTorch more flexibility and interactivity, but also requires more debugging and testing. TensorFlow, in contrast, is more stable and scalable, but also less intuitive and expressive.

In my experience, PyTorch is super easy to navigate and use and is very flexible and intuitive. It also uses dynamic computation graphs which makes it easier to visualize and learn as compared to static graphs used in TensorFlow. PyTorch is also a research friendly tool and easily understood across lab groups. TensorFlow, on the other hand, has some more higher performance computability tools that can allow for more scalability, optimization, and a comprehensive ecosystem.

TensorFlow and PyTorch both have high performance and optimization capabilities, as they leverage the power of GPUs and TPUs to accelerate the computation of your models.
