What do you do if import/export deadlines are constantly overwhelming you?

This saves time and reduces the risk of errors. Automate repetitive tasks like document generation and tracking. Maintain a system for storing documents and information related to each shipment.

I believe that one should delegate the smaller challenges to senior staff with regular updates and then set the vision of what needs to happen and by when , ensure that the scope of what is needed to be achieved is discussed and communicated properly and do time management with deadlines , once done write a SOP on what should be done and how and tweak as required based on the time frames to achieve, remember you will always work with people.

In addition to above mentioned, operations comes under time pressure because there is a lack of understanding of what the business entails and what is actually required.. If the goods being imported/exported is new to the company, then it is best to start looking at best practices for that particular cargo and follow them.. If the goods are being imported/exported regularly, then a thorough review/audit of the processes can be done which will identify the bottlenecks in the flow.. Where possible, adopt relevant technologies available that will help in creating a digital workflow which will help alleviate this time bound pressures..
