What are the common pitfalls and mistakes to avoid when building your personal brand online?

Lack of clear goals when building a personal brand online is like setting sail without a compass. Without that vital direction, how can you effectively communicate your unique value, let alone resonate with your target audience or track your progress? Here's my take: envision your personal brand as a story, YOUR story. ?? This narrative should be deeply intertwined with your core values, skills, and the things that fire you up. ?? From this, a clear, compelling, and authentic brand vision emerges. Whatever your goal, it should align with your brand vision and be something you can measure, so you know when you've hit the mark. Remember, the journey to personal branding success is never a one-size-fits-all. It's your unique path

So what steps should be taken to set your clear goal? If your an existing business, your customer feed back will tell you what your good at. Ask your customers what they like most about your organization, product or service. Listen to them as they can tell you what your best at, and this is the direction your goal should be focused on. Do what your do best, but now make it even better online.

You need to be who you are in person as you are online. You need to have a plan in place so that you're posting at least weekly on your preferred platform and most importantly, don't give up. Patience and persistence are the name of the game when you're building your personal brand.

What has worked off line should be your focus as well for your online content, to continue building that brand and trust. People are less afraid of what they are already familiar with.

It's like trying to be Iron Man when you're more of a Spider-Man. ????? Your audience wants to see the real you, not some superhero version. They want your stories, your opinions, your values. They want to see you laugh, cry, and even stumble. Because that's what makes you, YOU! ?? So, let's drop the mask, and be our own superheroes. Because in the end, even Peter Parker is cooler than a fake Tony Stark. ????

also allow your audience to share what differentiates you from others. Remember, the average individual is skeptical about a company or it's Sales people or online marketing efforts. They question this so much they often have this mindset: If a salesman or Marketing team say it, it might be true, but if a customer or they themselves (meaning your clients) say it, then it is true, even if it isn't. One of my favorite quotes from yours truly is: Perception is reality, even if it's skewed in the mind of the customer.

This is where it becomes critical to tune your radio to WIIFM (What's In It For ME.... meaning the customer). You must keep your content short and to the point, which is why it is so critical to talk to your customers and ask. What is the most valuable thing in your mind about our product or service. Listen, they will tell you.
