I think Training and support is something on going and it won't be a big problem concerning the progress in technology. One thing that is going to change is from now onwards we have to keep learning things and keep doing some creative work.

Vision and Leadership are always important from day 1. Now it will still be relevant, One thing I can say clearly is that the technology vision to predict the Future is going to stay ahead in the leadership. So the most important part in the leadership is going to be tech Vision. By that, I am not saying all who have the vision are leaders of course it is going to be one of the traits. Important one of course.

When introducing a new technology that is positioned to become part of the everyday learning experience requires leadership that is intelligent about the solution, receptive to challenging opinions about need and have the ability to patiently address these situations, be respectful and realistic about time/place/delivery method of training, and overall, communicate the districts thought process, roll out plan, support and training mechanisms in clear and accessible language that is consistent and delivered without any negativity in tone or language. Leadership also needs to be able to acknowledge and accept responsibility for any points of information that were missed in the decision making process that may require a new direction to solve

Without a clear, compelling vision, efforts to infuse technology into education often become disjointed and ineffective. This challenge is analogous to a ship with a crew ready to sail but lacking a destination or map. The vision for technology integration must go beyond mere adoption; it should foster a culture where technology is a lever for pedagogical innovation and critical thinking. I recall a conversation with a principal who transformed his school's approach by not just advocating for technology, but by actively participating in digital classrooms, showcasing the practical possibilities. Resistance is not limited to technology, it is a general phenomenon that is going to be there always. But this time the difference will be the technology change is so massive that people are going to see changes in front of them and that will be enough to convince them. So that might be something useful.

Some strategies to help address a reluctant mindset to an innovative solution include 1) being able to share information from an aspirational peer that has implemented the solution successfully 2) have an expert with a calm and nurturing demeanor be available to help address challenges/concerns 3) rollout the solution in small increments - don't try to boil the ocean!!, if possible 4) identify some highly respected dissenters from within the community up front to train and introduce the technology to, to help build trust and break down barriers 5) be transparent in all communications about the decision to choose the solution, implementation plans, and intended outcomes. You cannot make everyone happy, but you can minimize negativity.

Partnering with reputable experts to help identify and deploy alternative methods of evaluation, creation of performance standards, etc... for new technologies can be key to adoption. Also consider including highly respected and experienced teachers/administrators and even community members to help develop metrics and measures around the new technology to help reduce anxiety and concern over assessment needs. Students can also be a creative source of input into the assessment and evaluation process since they may bring a new perspective to how the solution may be used, spurring opportunities to think out-of-the-box into previously unknown ways to deploy the solution.

In my encounters with innovative educators, I've seen a growing recognition of this mismatch. Schools need to evolve their assessment methods to reflect the diverse ways in which students engage and learn with technology. This might mean shifting towards more project-based or competency-based assessments, which can provide a fuller picture of a student's abilities and learning journey.

Technology in education isn't just about academic learning; it's a gateway to developing life skills. Digital literacy, online etiquette, and cyber safety are crucial competencies in today's world.
