One of my favorite use cases of using AI generated images in scientific research is in Astrophysics. Specifically the exploration of exoplanets; which are planets that are similar to Earth if not better. One of my favorite exoplanets is KOI 5715.01. AI generated images can help us to understand the composition and characteristics of an exoplanet atmosphere. Thus alot of what we know may be mostly theoretical at this point. We also need a massive amount of computational power to simulate the atmospheric conditions of these theoretical calculations in images.
