The main reason of Ground crew is not getting promoted in this industry is because it doesn't exist a clear career path for employees located in cities that are not hubs. It only exist Chief of station, supervisors and regular Customer Services Agents. To rotate a supervisor takes years , and by then the agents already went for a different job.
Promotion is not an overnight event. It happens over a period of time. And at times, due to various types of organisational cultures existing, may not happen at all or may happen slowly. My idea of promotion is not only one in an organisation, but also in your personality and satisfaction. So I will advise to keep investing on yourself consistently and keep upgrading your skills. evven if not required by your employer at that time, but may be by the industry that you are serving.
