In my experience security audit is not very helpful in SAAS (software as a service) environment because the cloud service consumer is just a subscriber having no visibility or control on the back end. There are very few areas in which audit can be performed depending on what security responsibility the CSP (cloud service provider) has allowed the cloud service consumer to perform from security perspective.
