But in reality, just because someone mentions ".Net" in their profile 40 times over someone who mentions it 20 times doesn't make the first person more qualified for the job. Picking random tech in the name of using Tech for recruitment wont help but just lead to waste of time if data is not compatible. This will require the combined effort of TA, Tech Team, Data, and AI experts. TA team alone may not be fully competent to implement the same.

I think there is a shift happening in many companies especially in staffing. And that shift is a renewed focus on end user enablement/adoption. The past few years every exec was told to REALLY invest in their tech stack. And so MANY did! But perhaps not enough time was spent on change management and really delving into how/if their recruiters would actually - not theoretically- use all the new cool stuff. My advice is to include your end users (or a rep) in as much of the tech selection and optimization process as possible AND make sure that the exec decisions makers are not too far removed from the day to day of those they are trying to "help". People are more likely to adopt and accept if they are included :)

In my experience as a buyer of TA tech, the two big factors to consider are a) your organization needs as each company is at a different place in their TA needs, HR Tech stack, the recruiter maturity and most importantly what are the immediate and medium term objectives for TA as a whole are? b) How much change management effort is required and how much your organization is able to invest in that effort. One critical skill TA leaders and TA tech experts need to master is ability to orchestrate solutions using various point tech tools. There are no comprehensive TA platform and point solutions need strong integration into the overall process and data flows.

The biggest challenge for recruiting tech, is that technology can’t replace the intuition of a recruiter… it can’t read between the lines of conversation and it can’t (yet) pick up on the tone or subtle nuances of a chat… AI will undoubtedly continue to make recruiting easier and the process of finding or hiring a job will become much more straightforward. Technology is a wonderful thing…. It can not replace a good recruiter.
