Volume is indeed a necessary part of one's speech. For a very long time, I've been speaking with a very soft voice so as to sound more calm. But actually it made me sound low in confidence. But it is recently that I discovered that I must give more emphasis to some words that matter by speaking louder. Tip: One can practise speaking by talking to more people and participating in public speaking events. At the beginning, you might fail but in the long run it is going to help.

When it was time for the people to quiet down, the tactic is to soften the music...play on, but progressively more quietly. Record yourself on different kinds of voice recorders and listen over and over again to gauge whether you are able to convey the emotion. Also, deploy the use of body language techniques to sync with volume; it matters.
