I find that keeping your cell number no matter how much you move, helps to keep you in touch with your network. Use that cell number to send holiday greetings to all your business contacts. Keep a record of their birthdays or other important dates in their life. Send small notes to keep in touch. Use the cellphone for reaching out and encouraging others. Use LinkedIn to share your career news. Your texts and emails are then personal and then just for them. It helps them read every text and email as it is personally from you alone and always encouraging. Be their advocate, not just a colleague. You will not only stay in touch, you will be remembered, and when you reach out they will look forward to hearing from you.
