As I stated elsewhere, my recommendation is to think "doctor/patient" and not supervised/supervisor or vendor/client. Instead of going for someone very specialized in one specific skill, I've found that in these types of environments, often times finding those who tend to be more general experts with the ability to learn new things quickly and can fill different functional roles depending on the need, those who like diverse work responsibilities and aren't afraid to work in a "blurred line" environment when it comes to scope of responsibility can be life savers. They are few and far between but can be critical to getting the type of help needed to make an impact despite the other constraints on the operating environment.
You assessed the situations, aligned the outcomes, aligned the road to a solution, now it is time to see what you can work with. Doing a headcount of your available assets and skills not only helps making sure your solution is optimally using existing resources, but it is an opportunity to take stock of who has what capabilities and who can own which part of the solution. By identifying your resources (people and otherwise), you can foster a culture of ownership and responsibility in your engagement.
Before additional cheaper/alternative resources are considered, the client should make sure the scope of work and deliverables are clear and concise. I've seen companies burned because they thought the solution to a poor scope was to hire cheaper companies that would jump at the chance to do the work, but they were not qualified to do the work which ended up costing the client more in the long run.

It's important to understand why shifts in priority are happening and help set correct expectations around impact to planned initiatives and other work. When change happens, communication has to go up around what the priorities are and why as well as the impact to other assumed commitments.

Working in an agile fashion, trying to work towards an MVP and then gradually increasing functionality for example, all of that can help keep you moving when things pop up.

If you can deliver that value in tangible, visible business terms, then there's an excellent chance you'll get additional business. Here's why — businesses always have money, even when they say they don't. If they say they don't, then you've not communicated the business value to your client, or they've not shared it internally.

Ganz wichtig, was überhaupt nicht vergessen werden darf: kehren Sie nach und w?hrend dem Projekt nicht zu schnell in den Tagesbetrieb zurück.
