1. First step is to familiarise yourself with already existing algorithms, how, when and why they are implemented/used. Once you get answers to these questions, you will feel comfortable in designing your own. 2. Don't go for complex algorithms in the beginning. Just start with simple ones and move forward. 3. Golden tip: never compare your progress with anyone else's progress, rather do it with your own older version.

Except the traditional algorithms in textbooks, 2 things I usually do: 1. Learn from research papers for specific scenarios I am interested in. Some scenarios need some precise algorithm design. The traditional algorithms just help solve partial parts but not at all. 2. Study the programming codes provided by the programming language associate officials. This helps me rethink better programming code’s maintenance.

I have created various tools throughout my career that involved complex algorithms. Two things that made it easy was knowing how various data structures work at the core (eg. Graphs, Trees, Stacks, Queues, Tries etc) and knowing how recursive/DP works which made logic simpler to most of complex use cases.
