The above process is very generic and can be applied for generic purchases. But in practice, for Critical purchases we need to develop partnership with Vendors. There will be a lot of interdependencies between Vendors and Customers to manage material availability. In cases like Electronics, Steel, the supply chains are highly controlled. It is important to go upto 2nd and 3rd tier vendors and assess their Risks.

Negotiation is a vital skill that can help you achieve the best possible outcome for both parties, such as fair pricing, favorable terms, clear expectations, and value-added benefits.
