I think being confident is the key. As a person of color we usually get intimated easily and doubt our capabilities and contribution we have made which would have made good impact in organisational growth. We should focus on being persistent and honest to our skills. Be proactive in taking initiation and do not hesitate in being assertive when you think otherwise, on any decisions which effects your performance or work life balance. we tend to fall prey for it and do not take enough credit. Lastly, document (analytics/data) well your case when you decide to discuss the raise with your manager as a backing to show your hard work and contributions. keep it simple and straight.
