From my experience both studying part-time and having worked in a hybrid environment for many years, I've found that the best way to engage people when learning statistics are to firstly keep material concise where possible. A well written short document or short video can help key points to sink in and foster curiosity to learn more. Secondly, key points or topics need to be underlined with examples. Building a classified on the Iris dataset is all very well for showing the theory and some example code, however doing this with something more relevant to the audience will make it more engaging for them
