The best feedback I've ever gotten has come from people I admire. Sending and email and requesting for feedback may sound like a reach, but you literally lose nothing by doing so and could gain a lot by receiving feedback from someone who's more of an expert than you are. Asking for community feedback if the project allows for it, is also a great way of better understanding what people like or want, but also what you deeply really want for the character to be.
