Single-engine Taxi-out (SETO) to address taxi-related emissions, but more will be needed. Electric tow tugs and charging for aircraft wheel-fixed electric motors. Innovators will see this as an area to differentiate. Laggards will wait until there is a greater push on international standards and coordination between airports. As with the decarbonization journey, GHAs will be looking to receive and give support as they size up the relevant capital investments; deployment of some electric tug designs, for instance, may require minor infrastructure upgrades to allow safe return routes.

I would like to exaggerate on the need to strongly consider investing in making a green environment through planting trees. There could be no production of biomass without the cultivation of plantations or making a green environment. Therefore in simple terms, I will encourage every citizen of the world to plant at least one tree in every five years. This can greatly help reduce carbon emissions from the atmosphere.

Conduct complete lifecycle carbon footprint analysis to inform the decision on when to retire assets. - LTO and APU solutions offer many airport emissions reduction opportunities and should be the priority for airport partners. Hold proactive discussions with airlines and airports on the potential GHAs have to facilitate reductions in these areas, supported by appropriate airport investment decisions. - Anticipate airline and airport aspirations for LTO and APU evolution in CAPEX decisions and staff training.

Cloud adoption is key in improving the sustainability posture in any operation. Ground handling requires various IT systems and there is lot of scope of optimization by leveraging analytics based on real time data from passengers, vehicles and baggage. All this requires data center space, cooling and maintenance. Cloud improves carbon footprint of workloads by atleast 70% or more. Hyperscalars like AWS have been adopting renewable energy aggressively and will have their regions powered by it completely by 2025. Any workload which moves into such a setup gets a sustainability benefit without doing any changes.
