Es muy importante mantener un riguroso cumplimiento del programa de mantenimiento (MPD) de la aeronave con un programa de inspecciones boroscopicas que detecte cualquier posible da?o en el motor con su consiguiente reduccion de intervalos. Además tener un area de ingenieria de motores "On-Wing" que realice un monitoreo de la flota de motores mediante sistema de Telemetria y alerta basada en algortimos desarrollados por el fabricante, de manera de detectar fallas y programar su mantenimiento preventivo/correctivo.

Anti icing systems must be well monitored and validated regularly during use and inspections. Engine icing can lead to many issues, pilots and maintenance personnel must have enhanced awareness of the impact of poor maintenance or incorrect use of anti ice systems. Buildup of ice on engine inlets and nacelles can disrupt airflow to the engine reducing effectiveness. Loose chunks of ice can damage the engine blades. They must know what kind of anti ice system is applicable to the aircraft being operated. Some have electric heating others implement engine bleed. Electric can have failures in segments that may not always detected. Weak valve operation on the engine bleed system can affect engine efficiency within the compressor section.

Efectivamente hay que cuidar la salud del motor en todo su ciclo de vida. Desde la puesta en marcha, asegurando que se respetan los tiempos de estabilización térmica antes de aplicar potencia de despegue o de su detención. Utilizar políticas de despegue y ascenso con potencia reducida, ascensos y descensos continuos que no obliguen a cambios de empuje constantes y cuando sea necesario hacerlos de forma gradual y con suavidad evitando acelerones bruscos. Hay que valorar muy bien si los procedimientos single engine taxi in o out permiten respetar la salud del motor especialmente en el primer vuelo del día cuando el motor no ha alcanzado su temperatura(Cold engine) Esto evitará sorpresas y rápido deterioro de los componentes del motor.

In the recent times in order to save fuel operators have opted the reduced thrust rating for engines. Due to this reduced engine thrust THE TIME TAKEN TO REACH THE DESIRED FLIGHT LEVEL IS INCREASED. This leads to components in the hot section especially the turbines staying in the hostile environment for a longer duration and which causes this the wear and degradation increases on these components. the strategic decision to reduce engine thrust ratings for fuel savings demands careful consideration of the trade-offs between immediate economic benefits and long-term engine health. Regular reviews, collaboration with manufacturers, and the use of advanced monitoring technologies are integral components of a proactive strategy.
