Use torture testing tools like codenomicon, Voiper that exploits the product with massive flood of malformed messages to see if that crashes the system. Idea is to make product robust against sip messages so that during parsing it doesn't crash the system. In one of the implementation, I designed a pre-parsing module to check the mandatory headers for any malformation. This helped drastically reduce the parsing related crashes and memory corruption in the C++ code. Besides , I implemented RFC 4475 extensively and helped reduced further corruption and crashes. SIPP is another tool that can help customize SIP messages as per needs. This can be used with a randomize function to generate number of different SIP messages.
