The next step in BCP is to develop plans for preventing, mitigating, responding to, and recovering from each risk scenario. These plans should include objectives, roles and responsibilities, procedures, and resources, as well as recovery time objectives (RTOs) and recovery point objectives (RPOs). Additionally, the plans should cover transportation, warehousing, communication, technology, and human resources. For transportation, you should consider availability and reliability of modes, routes, and carriers, as well as how to deal with delays, disruptions, or damages to shipments. For warehousing, you should consider protecting inventory, equipment, and facilities from hazards, as well as managing storage capacity, distribution, and replenishment. For communication, you should consider how to communicate with internal and external stakeholders, as well as how to share information, updates, and instructions. For technology, you should consider securing data, systems, and networks from cyberattacks, as well as how to backup, restore, and access critical information and applications. For human resources, you should consider how to ensure the safety, health, and well-being of staff, as well as how to train, mobilize, and support them during and after a crisis.
