There’s a healthy balance between over and under communication. If you’re with a new supervisor, you really meetings are likely needed but as you gain trust and build a relationship you can do this less and less. Sometimes, even the small things may need to be communicated. Have at least a list of 5 items weekly to just fill them in on, it helps build trust and open communication with them, and they will understand your work ethic and patterns and trust you to make decisions on your own.
