An alternative measure of impact looks at the attention your article is receiving broader than citations in other journals by including mentions in news, social media and blogs and citations in policy documents. Some journals post altmetric scores (e.g. Altmetric, PlumX) alongside your article.

Also think about your position in the author order. First author has typically led the project, collected and analysed data. Next second, Next third etc. Your role indicates whether you have experience as a leader, or supporter. Both can be very important to demonstrate.
