What are the advantages and disadvantages of a point-to-point DSL network topology?
Point-to-point DSL network topology is one of the possible ways to connect DSL subscribers to the service provider's network. DSL stands for digital subscriber line, a technology that uses existing copper telephone lines to deliver high-speed data and voice services. In a point-to-point topology, each subscriber has a dedicated pair of wires that connects them directly to a DSL access multiplexer (DSLAM) at the provider's central office. This is different from a point-to-multipoint topology, where multiple subscribers share a common pair of wires and a splitter device at the distribution point.
