A team member's personal goals clash with the team's collective goals. How will you navigate this conflict?
Differences in personal and team goals can create tension. To bridge this gap effectively:
- Discuss aspirations openly, ensuring that personal goals are acknowledged while emphasizing collective targets.
- Find intersections where individual ambitions can propel team objectives, creating win-win scenarios.
- Mediate conflicts with empathy, understanding each perspective to find a middle ground.

One of the most important things that a leader must do is a coherent definition of both personal and team goals. A teammate may have a personal career goal but the role of the leader is to make it coherent with the team goals. If there is no possibility of coexistence the leader must be clear with the teammate. The team's goals stay ahead but the leader must be also supportive with the teammate's career goals (may be defining a plan with a longer time span and that doesn't clash with the other goals)
