In my experience, sometimes you have to expose them to a new idea or tool in a short presentation before seeking their input. That allows them to see how it's being used and to think creatively about imagining how this could fit into their classroom. This allows them to provide thoughtful input and questions and avoid the "one more thing being put on our plate" thought process. Successful implementation will also require ongoing support. One and done trainings have been utilized too often in K-12 education.

Ensure teachers know that what they are already doing is powerful and important enough to be voiced and integrated into the conversation, whether it's how they use digital tools, or when they choose not to. Also, continue to reinforce an organization-wide culture of growth. Emphasizing that initiative, growth efforts, and organizational inspiration should come from real classrooms tends to encourage teachers to share their expertise, rather than leaving the conversation to directors and principals. Try some 1:1 or small group convos ask what would inspire them to contribute. Perhaps a partner? Sometimes, anonymity helps, so try launching with a survey, and sharing the results. Allow for calibration with colleagues.

Technology can be perceived as a massive threat to some teachers, which is why high quality training is paramount. If we want teachers to feel part of this "technological revolution" we are all in, I think it is essential to provide them with relevant training sessions and self-study materials that align with their teacher philosophy and that are perceived as relevant to their pedagogical practice. Teachers worldwide are already heavily burdened. We have to be careful that these new training sessions aren't perceived as an additional burden, and to do so we need teachers to have a voice on which technologies to integrate in their classrooms.
