While sharing information and simplifying technical terms can help both sides understand each other, I don’t believe in oversimplifying for non-technical members. Doing so could lead to unrealistic or “dreamy” decisions. Technical decisions should be made by the technical team based on real limitations and project boundaries. It’s important that non-technical members grasp the key points without losing sight of the complexities. That way, everyone can make informed decisions while staying grounded in what’s actually possible. This balance ensures practical outcomes that respect both the expertise of technical teams and the overall project goals.

Go to lunch if you are not remote. Don't talk about work. Talk about restaurants, families, or sports etc.. Find common ground, remote or not. Deal with all co-workers as people not as job titles. Articulate the goal clearly. Do that by defining terms and getting agreement. When conflict arises, step back to common ground. If you are responding emotionally, you lose. Buy-in at every stage by all parties is crucial. There is always 1 person who refuses. Prior to getting angry, consider they may be right In successful companies the techs and non-techs do not have a large gap at all. Why is this a problem? Management lacks a clear vision clearly articulated. When the goal is clear, when priorities are clear, buy-in happens.

To develop a good collaboration between technical and non-technical team its good to arrange regular team meetings to mutually discuss the different aspects of electrical work on project currently working on, both technical and non technical members should participate and explain their work for the sake of strong coordination between all team members, also there should be question/answer sessions for non technical members where they should be provided the required knowledge so they can effectively understand different work aspects.
