Make a friend! Find ways to be useful to your customers. Show with actions that you are willing to earn their trust and business Also always give your full attention when talking with a client. Leave the phone in the car. Read the room and pay attention to what they are telling you with words and body language. Look for ways to solve problems or increase productivity with your product or service. With new prospects keep showing up and be patient. Never show frustration at having to wait or being turned away. There will come a point where they will give you the time you are looking for because they see the effort you are putting out. Difficult beginnings often lead to the best customers.

Most importantly you must listen to your customers needs and then you can understand how to provide them with the service and attention they deserve. You have to take your own wants and desires out of the equation and only then will you be able to set realistic expectations that your client desires and you can achieve to avoid over promising what you can deliver.

Communication, is going to be the key factor to all of this. Theres history of how consumers have been scammed, so it's natural for our customers to be hesitant to want to allow us to provide a service for them with only word of mouth. That's why communication is so important. Communication allows for transparency of who you are as a company, sales person, product and services you're providing. They won't feel like their being scammed, they won't feel like their getting trick into buying something, but because of the communication you have established and provided for the beginning of this relationship they'll know exactly what their getting and what to expect.

Build relationships and build trust. Under promise, never get a clients hopes up. We all know anything can happen, but expectations need to be realistic up front. Communicate throughout the process, whether it’s positive or negative information. No one likes to be in the dark.

How would approach outside sales is quite simple. 1) give options! If you have an option that is more readily available present both and let the customer decide on if they want to wait or not. This builds integrity and shows that you are taking the consumers interests at heart. 2) Enthusiasm=success: be passionate about what you are selling! Belief goes a long way in showing your confidence when selling a product. You also want to be enthusiastic when it comes to your client. This isn’t just about making a friend but about cultivating a relationship that grows into multiple deals. 3) Lastly, be prepared! Never go into a meeting without knowing when the deal will be done and what pricing you have to work with.
