Hence all projects should firstly have a realistic end date(+/- 10%) Also R&D projects should have a time bound approach With all sections of the project including synthetic sections, QC section , QA section etc. working in tandem with specific roles and with key parameters checks being adhered to. If all the concerned teams are working in sync and parameter checks are being followed, the client would nt have to suffer any delays due to the R&D projects

I think it is more important to know the goal and make the team focused on the goal at first. Making a timeline based on previous projects experience and if any additional time is required in any particular development phase/cycle is also needed. This will communicate a clear timeline required. Further, identify the right people for the right task and do not get engaged to everyone on the same task. I think by this we can deliver the project within the communicated timelines without taking any unnecessary pressure.

I strongly agree with the implementation of AI and Data Analytics to R&D. Getting insights from Data Analytics is time saving and helps eliminate possible errors in the process. Additionally it allows the team to not stress on analyzing the heap of records and data. They can rather invest their time on implementing new protocols or procedures to improve the quality.

Research and Development has three things intertwined: -Speed -Quality -Cost R&D is often bottlenecked by a few limiting factors such as supply chain, machine shops, or a shortage of people with the qualified expertise to do the R&D. These are real world limitations. In general you can improve the speed of R&D without affecting quality but the cost will increase at an even greater rate than speed, affecting the ROI. Overcoming these real world challenges require large incentives and they are often costly. No magic bullet exists for this problem even with AI, as the AI is only as smart as the designer and/or user, whichever is weaker.
