For example, a thumbs-up is offensive in Iran but ok in US. Culture acts as an invisible UI, Like a user flows dictated by tradition, not logic. Gestures and colors carry deep symbolism. Ignoring these norms risks rapid user alienation. In testing, It is dangerous to copy user comments verbatim from one culture to another. We to understand the "why" behind the "what." Recruit diverse participants, conduct tests in their native habitat (virtually), and pay attention to the unspoken cues.

From my experience working with people worldwide, users are oriented to the UX/UI of their "key App" (most used daily or "a star" in a specific area). E.g.: in China, one of the main messanger (and it's also a place not just for chatting) - is WeChat. This App has its own functions and visual aesthetics. Opening any other messager applications, a Chinese person will expect to have the same features, similar visual solutions and make the same gestures to achieve certain interactions (mention someone in the chat, reply to a particular phrase, etc.). Therefore a test on the communication App, e.g. from Scandinavia, with a Chinese person will be influenced by this person's daily habits in usage of the "familiar" App and its design assets.

While we wish all of the users are technologically enabled and have the agency to use the product or an interface, vast majority have issues accessing them due to various socio-economic reason. Starting with internet, device, access due to policy in the country. We must keep in mind the services must reach all the user segments despite their technological capability.

User research and testing is important in every project but it’s even more imperative if you’re building a product for users from different countries and backgrounds. I remember sometimes back we were working on a product which was targeted to be deployed in France, Spain and sweden. We had to build the prototype in 3 different languages and though we were targeting the same type of users, their expectations and the way they interacted with the prototypes were quite different and really specific to their context and ways of working. This gave us valuable insights which helped us refine the proposed solution making sure it covers the need of the different type of users.

Models of hyper / over personalisation are been transformed into patterns to feed the machines to create environment around the users.
