How often should you conduct a QHSE Workplace Safety audit?

Safety inspection can be focused on operational control aspects subject to any particular or overall safety criteria's; whereas Safety Audits are birds eye view to evaluate ultimate effectiveness of the the overall systems being placed. Ideally this has to be done on quarterly basis involving Plant Heads and Sectional Heads. Checking adequacy of inspections being performed, training effectiveness and look for effective percolation of systems through interview of shop floor persons shall be the aim. Regards !!

1. Statutory Audit is conducted once in a year 2. Internal audit based on statutory framework and checklist is conducted once in six month 3. IMS certification body Conduct it's Audit yearly while the internal audit is conducted once in Six month based on IMS Criteria 4. Senior manager Conduct safety Audit of their plant once in quarter 5. Department manager Audit his / her plant once in month just before monthly safety committee meeting 6. Interdepartmental Safety Audit conducted once in a year and 7. Inter unit safety audit is also conducted once in a year

To tick the box or to really gain insights on what works in the areas of Quality, Safety, Health and Environment ? 2. How is the company going to use the and implement the results of this audit ? The answers to these questions will naturally indicate what is the regularity required that will impact positively the performance of the company and supports its ambitions .

Well, The frequency of the QHSE audits is truly based on the Risk level of the typical workplace. Also, factors to be considered for the audit frequency are the Risk consequences, Accident record history, Technological changes in process, Behavioral analysis of the workforce, etc. Most important are societal factors and community social responsibility especially if the workplace exists in or nearby populations.

In addition to the high ,medium & low risks..focus should be on the residual risk..Although High risk needs more stringent control measures. Risk is the Uncertainty so, on this basis you have prioritize all risks control measures.

Risks vary from industry to industry with risk assessment one of the things that make risk assessment management work is to get workers to take ownership of safety

Residual risk is always there , it’s how you mitigate and control it through tool box talks that gives you the barriers through COSHH assessment, tool box talks , lifting plans and permits to work , during a task dynamics should always be used .

El objetivo de la Alta Gerencia y la Base en esencia es el mismo, cero accidentes de alto impacto, trabajadores regresando a casa sanos y salvos, un ambiente de trabajo seguro. En mi experiencia, lo que no he evidenciado es el mismo nivel de compromiso en todas las áreas, aún se ven en la línea operativa personas sin usar los epp adecuados, saltándose procedimientos, así como directivos buscando optimizaciones con la seguridad, reducciones en presupuesto o colocando tareas reactivas sin seguir lo planeado.

Si no tenemos claridad suficiente de como funciona nuestro sistema HSEQ y no trabajamos en las desviaciones de los procesos, protocolos y procedimientos, siempre habrá una carencia o insatisfacción por parte de un grupo del equipo de trabajo. Tomando en consideración que si al realizar los pertinentes diagnósticos se encontraron hallazgos que se desvían de toda forma correcta de trabajar y no se subsanan a tiempo por nuestra parte, los colaboradores, proveedores y hasta nosotros mismos perderíamos el verdadero foco ya que no hemos tomado con diligencia el corregir los hallazgos y no conformidades que pueden causar perdida en nuestra mejora como organización, por ello es importante Auditar a tiempo y fortalecer las gestiones internas.

Para ciertos productos, son indispensables las auditorias externas y la adecuación a las leyes internacionales. Dan una excelente imagen, a proovedores y clientes, y genera una sensación de confianza y responsabilidad de parte de la empresa.

Les audits peuvent etre realises tres ou trop frequemment ou alors de maniere hierarchique. Un audit interne n'incluant pas les managers ou les membres de la direction n'aura que peu de portée. Chaque audit doit servir à identifier des ameliorations à prendre en compte à tous les niveaux de l'entreprise. Auditer pour satisfaire l'organisme de certification n'amenera pas de plus value à l'entreprise. Le but ultime d'une entreprise c'est l'efficience quotidienne pour atteindre des objectifs toujours plus efficaces.

While a green signal may indicate smooth operations, it does not guarantee the absence of underlying issues. Its important for management to uncover discrepancies between reported data and the actual state of a particular "green flag" process. This proactive audit approach ensures that red flags are not overlooked and that accurate information is used for decision-making, fostering a culture of transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement within the organization.

One of thing that really helps me is to take daily round in plant area and targetting one area at at time Like Behaviour safety of person working on activity. It will give real picture.

Although specific audits are conducted on a monthly, quarterly, biennial, annual basis, etc., there are situations where audits are needed more frequently (daily), mainly in situations where action plans exist.
