How do you transition from disruptive innovation to mainstream?
Disruptive innovation is a term coined by Harvard professor Clayton Christensen to describe how new entrants in a market can challenge and eventually overtake established incumbents by offering simpler, cheaper, or more convenient solutions to customers who are overlooked or underserved by the dominant players. Examples of disruptive innovation include Netflix, Uber, Airbnb, and Spotify, among many others. However, being disruptive is not enough to ensure long-term success. To survive and thrive, disruptive innovators also need to transition from serving niche segments to reaching mainstream markets. How do you achieve this challenging feat? Here are some tips and strategies to help you make the leap from disruptive to mainstream.
