How do you train and upskill data mapping staff and stakeholders?

Moreover, it is imperative to evaluate the technical and practical expertise of the selected team concerning Information Security (IS) and the relevant Personal Data Protection legislation that governs the company's operations. This work must be led by a data protection specialist who has in-depth knowledge of Data Protection Legislation and Information Security.

Heres are a couple of ways i typically approach training and upskilling data mapping team members: 1. Start with a foundational understanding: make sure everyone is on the same page (ie how the business defines it and why it matters with use cases). 2. Use real examples with actual use cases: I start with high impact use cases, what the actual data-related issues, how the process will work etc for that use case and example.

With the rise of multiple overlapping positions like data analyst, business analyst, business data analyst etc, sometimes the expectations may also change from stakeholder POV. So its always better to agree upon your SOW right from the beginning
